What is an Native Australian Plant Species?
Native plants are naturally adapted to our Australian conditions so when established, they require little watering and are very self sufficient. In some regions soil preparation is essential as native plants require good drainage. Mulching around the base of the plant or the whole garden area once plants are planted (remembering to keep the mulch away from the trunk of the plant to avoid collar rot) will ensure a constant supply of nutrients along with maintaining moisture. Mulch depth should not exceed 100mm.
