Agapanthus

This hardy plant is available in a standard size of around 1m and also a dwarf form of around 40cm.   White, purple through to blue flower colours are available.  Prefers full sun to part shade and will benefit from watering and fertilizing.   Remove spent flowers and stems.  Flowers in Summer.   Division of plants can be done in the spring.  Grows in all Climate Zones.

Dietes 

A clumping plant with narrow strappy leaves.  Available in white or yellow flowers which should be removed when spent.  This plant is hardy and low maintenance.  Grows to around 0.8m.  Grows in all Climate Zones.

Hippeastrum 

A spring flowering bulb that has wide dark green strappy leaves.  Leaves die off in the Winter and re-emerge prior to the large flower head which will appear on a long stem.   Many flower variations are available and over time the bulbs will multiple enabling you to divide and plant out in other parts of your garden.  Hippeastrums make for a wonderful display when they are mass planted.  Perform well in full sun to full shade.  Grows in all Climate Zones.

Clivia miniata – Kaffir Lily 

This shade loving lily has the most beautiful head of orange flower/s.  With wide strappy, green glossy leaves, this small plant makes a wonderful addition to those hard to plant shady areas.  Grows in all Climate Zones.

Ophiopogon – Mondo Grass, Stripey White

Available in a standard size or a dwarf form.  Narrow arching strappy leaves form this clumping plant.  Use as a border plant or in between paving.  Regular water.  Stripey White features white and green leaves and a white flower.  Dwarf varieties may be used as a turf substitute in small areas.  Grows in all Climate Zones.
